We choose the hotels we use in our programs based on a number of criteria and with your comfort in mind. At all the destinations covered by our itineraries, we select hotels for their level of comfort, central location, personalized service, attentive staff, local character and charm (in terms of location or local architectural style).
To help you select your hotels and the level of service you require we divide the accommodation we offer into five categories:
- Deluxe – These are five-star or occasionally selected four-star hotels chosen for their excellent standards of service, comfort, fine restaurants and superb location (usually within the historic centres of the principal destinations on our programs).
- First Class – Essentially corresponding to internationally recognised standards for four-star accommodation, these hotels offer high standards of service and comfort, are centrally located and often housed in historic buildings renowned for their typical architecture.
- Upgraded Tourist Class – We use this category to define the top end of the three-star hotel market. The establishments we select possess a combination of local charm, central locations, high standards of personalized service and comfort.
- Tourist Class – This term covers three-star establishments. These hotels are comfortable, centrally-located, often family-run and attention is personalized and pleasantly local in flavour.
Low Budget – This category applies to what might be described as two-star hotels in Europe; while they are at the lower end of the scale of accommodation we offer, they are comfortable, with private bathrooms and the services international travellers expect when away from home.
